Elizabeth is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on the east bank of the Monongahela river, where PA Route 51 crosses, 15 miles upstream [south] of Pittsburgh and close to the county line. The population was 1,493 at the 2010 census. The borough of Elizabeth is entirely contained within the 15037 USPS ZIP code. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Borough has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), of which, 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (14.63%) is water.

Weekday Shuttle Service begins Tuesday, April 3, 2018
PennDOT District 11 is announcing a long-term closure of the sidewalk on the Elizabeth Bridge (Route 51) in Elizabeth and West Elizabeth boroughs, Allegheny County, will begin Tuesday, April 3 weather permitting.
A long-term closure of the sidewalk on the Elizabeth Bridge will begin at approximately noon on Tuesday as crews continue rehabilitation work on the structure. To accommodate pedestrians, a weekday shuttle service will begin Tuesday afternoon and run through the end of June. The shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The shuttle will run a continuous loop and will pick up passengers at the following locations:
- Elizabeth Borough – At the intersection of North 2nd Avenue and Mill Street
- West Elizabeth Borough – At the intersection of First Street and Ferry Street
