Elizabeth is a borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on the east bank of the Monongahela river, where Pennsylvania Route 51 crosses, 15 miles upstream [south] of Pittsburgh and close to the county line. The population was 1,493 at the 2010 census. The borough of Elizabeth is entirely contained within the 15037 USPS ZIP code. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), of which, 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km²) of it (14.63%) is water. ********************************************************************** Borough residents may now pay their sewage invoice at the Borough building.  Legal Tax Service has installed a payment lock-box in the Borough building lobby.  Payments must be in a sealed envelope with the appropriate stub and payment amount by the 15th of the month in order to avoid a late charge. *********************************************************************** Starting on April 21, 2014, 1st Street will be closed between Plum Street and Walnut Street for construction.  This construction project may last up to 14 days.  If you park your vehicle along 1st Street, you will need to park in the 2nd Street parking lot.  The Borough will be waiving any parking fees for this location until the construction is completed.  There may also be an interruption of water service within the construction time period.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. ********************************************************************************************************
